Shen's Books

This contest is closed.
Charming Chandler Chatter is the lucky winner.

Thanks to all who participated!

Our second Birthday Party sponsor is Shen's Books.

Shen's Books is a publisher of multicultural children’s literature that emphasizes cultural diversity and tolerance, with a focus on introducing children to the cultures of Asia. Their mission is to use books to share a world of stories, building greater understanding and tolerance within our increasingly diverse communities, as well as throughout our continuously shrinking globe.

One of my favorite books published by Shen's Books is Cora Cooks Pancit. It is a story about a little girl who loves helping in the kitchen. However, she always gets stuck doing the "kid jobs". One day, Cora finally gets to be her mother's assistant chef. She is so excited! She gets to practice grown-up jobs like shredding the chicken and soaking the noodles. When dinner is finally served, Cora can wait to see what everyone thinks of her cooking. The bright and colorful illustrations in this book are welcoming and make you feel "at home" with Cora's family. This is a perfect story for any children who enjoy cooking with their families.

Another wonderful book by this publisher is Selvakumar Knew Better. This book is based on a true story about a seven year old boy, living in Southern India, who was saved by his dog. This would be a great book for six - nine year old dog lovers.

For this giveaway, Shen's Books is giving one winner a copy of Selvakumar Knew Better.

To enter this giveaway ~ Leave a comment telling us about your favorite book about a dog.

For additional entries:
Giveaway ends Sept. 7.

Thanks for partying with us! Be sure to stop back by tomorrow!
