I just found this wonderful site with beautifully illustrated Bible Story Booklets.  They could be used for homeschooling, Sunday school, or just to read with your children.  You can print them in black and white or color.  I think you could also print them on 11x17 in. paper to create big books.

This book has been such a hit that there is now a PBS KIDS show by the same name. Click here to learn more about the program and to see clips. The PBS KIDS website contain tons of activity ideas and printables which correspond with the episodes. It is a great resource for parents and teachers. In addition, it offers games, coloring sheets, and videos for kids.

Site of the Day!

Goldfish Central (Pepperidge Farms) is a fun site for kids. To begin your child will register as a user. Then they get to print a Goldfish Central ID Card that contains their login information. It is small and designed to be cut out like a real ID card. Junie B. loved it.

When your child logs-in she will create her goldfish character and design a homepage. She will then be awarded 50 points with which she may buy clothes and accessories for her goldfish character, items to add to her homepage, or computer accessories (screensavers, etc.) for her home computer. She can earn more points by playing games in the arcade. In addition, there are some cute videos to watch and mysteries to solve.

Pepperidge Farm also owns a webiste for parents, called Fishful Thinking. It is designed to help parents and educators promote well-being in children and adolescents. The site currently has a neat feature that allows you to build a custom storybook and share it with family and friends. So Many Great Sites and Blogs ~ So Little Time

I am amazed at all of the great websites and free educational materials for children that are available on the web. Just about everyday I find a new site or blog that I love. While this is good, it can also be overwhelming. So, I have decided to share my "finds" with you in a manageable way. Each day (well, most days) I will share a new site or blog that I know you will appreciate. Sound good? Great, let's get started!

The first site I want to share is Mrs. Pancake, "the Home of Brilliant Doodads for Teachers, Parents, and Children". I love this site because, not only does it have printables with adorable graphics, but it also very organized and easy to navigate. Go check it out and let me know which printables you will use first.

Lookybook

Writing a literature-based preschool curriculum requires me to read a lot of children's books. So, I am always on the look out for new and undiscovered picture books. My searches usually lead me to Amazon because I like how you can view some of the pictures of the books they sell. However, they only show a few pictures and they are not always a good representation of the entire book. Well, problem solved!

I have found a new site, Lookybook, that allows you to look at picture books in their entirety. It is great! If you are looking for the perfect book to give as a birthday or Christmas gift, go to Lookybook and check out their bookshelves. You are sure to find the perfect one!
