A Cool T-Shirt Giveaway

This giveaway is closed.
The winner is Danielle from Our Barefoot Journey to Ethiopia.
Thanks to all who entered.

Amy at Literacy Launchpad is selling these t-shirts.

Here's what she has to say about them:

What's so great about these shirts is that there is a three-fold benefit to purchasing one:

1. You get to wear it around, look super cool, and make everyone else jealous!
2. You're promoting literacy to everyone who sees you sporting this bad boy!
3. 100% of the profit from the sale of each t-shirt will be put into our (my husband's and mine) adoption fund. We're currently in the process of adopting two children from Ethiopia! You can read all about that by clicking here. And subscribe while you're there, so you get all our awesome updates! :)

For this giveaway: The Itty-Bitty Bookworm is giving one lucky winner one of this fun T's.

To enter ~ Leave us a comment telling us about one of your child's favorite literacy activities.

As for literary activities, my daughter just loves to read, read, read. Sometimes we do a little craft too, but mostly it's just reading...or a book party on my bed!

The Dr. Suess night sponsored by the schools! You go and are read to by
officials of the school, town officials, etc. Each child is given a free book. It is such a fun evening. Love the Tee Shirt.
Many thanks, Cindi

Our favorite literacy activity, or I should say CHEEKY's favorite activity is using his letter tiles and spelling 'words'. Sometimes he finds words in his books to try and spell, and sometimes he likes to try to make up his OWN words and sound them out! Adorable shirt!!

my son loves to find words on signs...he names out all the letters of the word and then asks me what that spells. We are starting to work on him sounding out the first letter of the word and/or the last letter of the word.

we read tons!!! :) we also point out letters on signs and we draw letters on our magna doodle! she loves her Leapster, and Leapfrog Stuffed Tad that sings the letter sounds and tons of other stuff!

We play and sing Chicka Chicka Boom Boom lots too! :)

I teach kibdergarten. For journal writing, they draw the favorite part of the story. It helps them remember details!

We love to cuddle and read. My daughter also likes to illustrate her own version of what we read.

Right now 2yo Esme loves looking at letters and discussing/arguing over what they are! Or saying the backwards... And of course she loves to be read to, over and over and over.

Our fave literacy activity is acting out some of the books we read. My 4 year old is a natural actor (arent they all) - so to drive home the message of a particular story ... or just for fun ... we act out stories using ourselves or toys. Good fun!

My kindergarten class loves to share their comprehension of books/stories by being able to use assorted art materials to create costumes, scenes, and/or puppets to retell the story.

We love reading over here! L asks me to read books all day long. We once read Make Way for Ducklings 5 times in one day (she is only 2)! Our favorite activity is for L to fill in the words as I read her favorite books!

And... we are also a family adopting from Ethiopia!
