The Stone Beach

This giveaway is closed.
The lucky winner is Rhapsody in Books.
Thanks to all who entered!

One of today's giveaways is The Stone Beach, a young adult novel by Kim Chatel.

For those of you who are not familiar with Kim Chatel, you have to go visit her at Chatel Village. It is so much fun. The following are just a few of the many "places" (or pages) that you can visit in Chatel Village:
  • The School - Children's art work and letters, printable coloring sheets, contests, and tips for kid writers
  • The Art Gallery - Galleries of Kim's photography and fiber art.
  • The Craft Shop - Etsy shop.
  • The Library - Book reviews written by Kim and her daughter, Genna
  • The Daily News Building - Information about literacy, as well as updates on Kim's work and Chatel Village
  • The Book Shop - Purchase Kim's books, in print or as e-book
I recently had the pleasure of reviewing The Stone Beach by Kim. It is about a young teen named Caroline who is experiencing a lot of changes in her life. Her family has recently moved to a new home in the country, her best friend Brenda now has a boyfriend, and her fifteen year old cat is slowly dying. All of these life experiences make Caroline a character with whom many tweens can easily relate.

Feeling excluded by Brenda, Caroline attempts to begin a new friendship with Aimee. Although they are quite different, their friendship blossoms. Aimee understands and comforts Caroline through the decline of her cat's health.

The Stone Beach has a realistic plot. However, Kim has expertly intertwined these "everyday experiences" with the supernatural. This hint of the supernatural adds to the adventure and suspense of the book. Perfect read for tween girls!

This giveaway is for one copy of The Stone Beach.

To enter the giveaway ~ Visit Chatel Village. Then come back and tell us about your favorite place in the village.
