Our New Arrival

Window sign made by the girls

Our newest addition has arrived! Yes, we are officially dog owners again. I can't wait to tell you all about Darla, but first I have to tell you about her wonderful foster mom, Christina.

Christina is an amazing person. She passionately rescues dogs, nurtures and fosters them, and then lovingly finds good homes for them. Since she rescued Darla she has fed her the best quality food, given her appropriate joint medicine, cleaned and bathed her, and (most importantly) showed her love and compassion. I will always be grateful for Christina's dedication. Thank you, Christina! And thank you to all of the other dog rescue foster parents everywhere. We appreciate you!

So, here is Sam and Darla.

As you can see Darla is very sweet and gentle. We are not sure exactly how old she is, but we are thinking about 6 or so. She is calm and reserved, but likes to play fetch and tug of war. She loves treats, and uses her manners to get them. When we have a treat in our hands, she will sit and then very politely take it from you. Such a lady! When she needs to go outside, she sits by the door and waits. So easy! And she sleeps peacefully the whole night at the foot of my bed. Perfect foot warmer!

Hooray for Shelter Dogs! Hooray for Darla!
